Churches have a lot to juggle.
They have members to pastor and lead. They manage multiple initiatives, from overseas mission trips to running worship teams. They host frequent events–often in different locations, with different requirements for participation. They require tools to receive (and manage) gifts, donations, and tithes. They have needs and plans that change from season to season.
Integrating all of these needs together can be a massive challenge. In fact, most churches use a hodge-podge of tools that only makes administration more confusing and complex. You might use Pushpay for giving, Intuit for accounting, Asana for project management, Mailchimp for marketing and communication, and Wordpress for your church site. The problem with that approach is that it creates “silos” of communication and management.
Silos result in:
Even in the corporate world, silos are recognized as uniformly damaging and unhelpful.
With all that they juggle, churches are particularly susceptible to this problem.
The solution is an all-in-one platform that helps address all the needs of a church, integrates tools and solutions together, and brings clarity and efficiency to the entire church administrative process–such as Tithe.ly.
Tithe.ly offers all the tools you need to run your church, including:
Over 37,000 churches in 50 different countries use Tithe.ly. What do Tithe.ly users love the most about using the all-in-one church platform? It’s simple to use, affordable, and delivers on its promise of integration.
“Our church has been using the Tithe.ly app for more than 12 months and it has been tremendously useful,” says Joe. “It's simple to use, allows for giving to different funds, and is perfect for when a member is unable to make a service.”
“I spent the last few months working with another company that claimed they were integrated with my current website, but the integration was extremely complicated and prone to problems,” says Jason.
He continues, “....I was so frustrated with the company that sold all of these ‘integrated’ solutions, that I decided to look for an alternative and I found Tithe.ly. It was so simple to set up that I was literally up and running within a few hours. The integration with my new website and Tithe.ly looks great and is easy to use and manage.”
Tithe.ly can also help increase giving at churches without costing a ton of money upfront.
“My church had been looking for an all in one solution for online and text giving. We didn't have tons of gold bricks in our safe, so Tithe.ly hit the spot,” says Josh. “It's easy to use, reliable and most importantly affordable for churches of all sizes! Our online and text giving has dramatically increased since we launched Tithe.ly at our church!”
Of course, Tithe.ly isn’t the only tool out there for church software, management, and giving. Below, we’ll talk about three alternatives to Tithe.ly, and how they stack up in terms of giving capabilities, internal administrative tools, marketing tools, and more.
But first, we’ll take a look at what makes Tithe.ly so dang awesome–and different.
Tithe.ly is a fully integrated platform built to meet all of your church’s needs.
While no platform is perfect–and each church may have unique requirements–Tithe.ly aims to help your church thrive on multiple levels on a single platform.
That’s why the Tithe.ly suite includes tools not only for giving, but for internal administration. It’s why Tithe.ly aims to offer beautiful church media and helpful reporting. It’s why Tithe.ly doesn’t just want to make sure churches can run efficiently, but also offer a great experience for members.
New Zealand-based Pushpay was started in 2011 as a donor management system. Pushpay’s basic premise was simple and effective: help people donate to churches with digital giving on a desktop computer, laptop, or mobile phone.
Pushpay was one of the earlier adopters of digital giving, and as a result, gained name recognition quickly. Over time, they’ve evolved to include a wide range of tooling for churches. Having forged a partnership with Church Community Builder, they now include a church management software, church apps, and donor development materials to help engage donors.
Pushpay is certainly comparable to Tithe.ly, and is probably one of the more comprehensive church management solutions. What Pushpay doesn’t have, however, are a few key features that create an awesome experience for church members–namely, marketing tools and point of sale tools.
Here are three Tithe.ly features that Pushpay doesn’t have:
That being said, Pushpay doesn’t offer text and email software for communicating with church members. Churches that want to use Pushpay will have to purchase an additional tool to help them get the full benefits of text and email software.
Tithe.ly includes text and email software within their suite of tools so that users can easily execute on email and text marketing without going outside of their standard platform.
Tithe.ly provides access to free church media, including customizable social media posts, sermon series graphics, stock photos for church websites, and graphics for slides. While Paypal does offer a church website builder, it doesn’t give users the same access to church media.
Unlike Tithe.ly, easyTithe doesn’t include a pay portal for point of sale. This makes it more complicated to integrate sales into other aspects of church management (such as accounting and volunteer management).
easyTithe is a Tennessee-based software tool that streamlines the process of giving and generates reporting on church finances. Their suite includes tools for giving online, in an app, or at a kiosk (as well as international giving support). While easyTithe does market itself as a free platform, they actually include a $10 fee for all users. Not only that, but they’re reported to have slow customer support.
easyTithe has tools for giving. But it doesn’t offer a comprehensive suite of products for actually integrating all aspects of church management. Not only does it not offer a website builder or text and email software; it doesn’t meet a few basic needs of churches, including worship ministry tools, background checks, and sending texts.
Here are three Tithe.ly features that easyTithe doesn’t have:
Needless to say, easyTithe doesn’t include a tool for church worship teams–meaning that churches who want to use easyTithe will have to cobble together existing tools to support their worship leaders.
Tithe.ly’s text and email software allows users to send outbound text messages. easyTithe, however, doesn’t include this feature in their suite of products.
PayPal is one of the most well-known payment platforms out there, founded in the late 90’s by tech legend Peter Thiel. PayPal owns Venmo, Zettle, Honey, and other financial companies, has 305 million accountholders, and is worth $50 billion. In other words, it’s a formidable company–and now, it’s taken on church and ministry giving.
That being said, PayPal for Churches is just about as basic as it gets for church management and giving software. Other than a pay portal, it doesn’t offer any of the tools described above. And not only that, but it doesn’t offer three of the core pillars of church management: a tool for admin, a website builder, and an app.
Here are three Tithe.ly features that PayPal doesn’t have:
Tithe.ly ChMS helps churches tackle administrative needs with:
While PayPal for Churches does provide basic tools for generosity and a point of sales portal, it doesn’t include a comprehensive suite of management tools to help churches thrive.
PayPal does not offer a free mobile giving app, leaving users to use an alternative to create a great giving experience (Tithe.ly, on the other hand, offers an awesome free mobile giving app, along with everything else).
PayPal for Churches doesn’t include a website builder in their suite of giving tools. Again, users will have to go elsewhere to seek a solution.
Tithe.ly is an integrated, all-in-one platform that makes it simple and cost-effective for churches to tackle management, communication, marketing, financials, and more.
