How much does Tithely Groups cost?
Groups is included with Tithely Church Management. Add the custom church app so members can browse and join groups from their phones, or take the All-Access plan for the full toolset.
Is there a free version of small group management software?
Tithely Giving is free, and Groups is included with Tithely Church Management. Free-tier group tools generally cap you on group count or drop attendance reporting — worth comparing against what your leaders actually need before choosing.
Can we use Groups for youth groups and student ministry?
Yes. Create as many Group Types as you need — youth, young adults, women's, men's, ministry teams, serve teams — each with its own settings for privacy, meeting details, and who can join. Student groups are typically set to require leader approval so parents and leaders stay in the loop.
Can group leaders message their whole group?
Yes. Each group has its own channel for group messages and direct messages, plus two-way push notifications through your church app. Leaders send reminders, share a location change, or ask a question, and members reply in the same thread — no shared phone numbers, no separate group text thread to maintain.
Can we make a group private or closed?
Yes. Groups can be public and open to anyone, publicly listed but requiring a join request that a group leader approves, or private and hidden entirely. Leaders control who's admitted. Useful for leadership teams, recovery groups, and student ministry.
Does small group attendance connect to our main church database?
Yes. Groups is part of Tithely Church Management, not a bolt-on, so group membership and attendance are attributes of the person record — visible next to giving history, check-ins, and event sign-ups. That's what lets you answer "who attends on Sunday but isn't in a group?" without exporting anything.
How do small group leaders take attendance?
Group leaders take attendance on their own devices for their own groups, without needing admin access to your church database. Because Groups runs on Tithely Church Management, each week's attendance writes straight to the member records — so rosters stay current, and the office isn't retyping sign-in sheets.
How do church members find and join a small group?
People open your Tithely church app, browse or search the group directory, and tap to request to join — no form to fill out and no email to the office. Open groups accept members directly; closed groups route the request to the group leader for approval. Groups they've joined appear in a dedicated "Your Groups" section, with meeting day, time, and location on each group page.
What is church group management software?
