Located on Vancouver Island off the west coast of Canada, Northgate Church has a heart for the homeless. They’ve been serving this population for years–cooking up hot meals from their onsite kitchen every Saturday for homeless men and women from the community. But when their kitchen fell into disrepair, Northgate Church found they needed a financial miracle.

When a $100k repair estimation more than tripled to a $350k bill, Pastor Evan Allnutt knew they needed not just a miracle, but a tool.

Enter, Tithe.ly–the tool that had already helped Northgate Church build a beautiful website, church app, and donation platform. Tithe.ly helped Evan and his team build a robust giving campaign across multiple platforms. “The site allowed people to catch our heart…and then gave them an opportunity to give in that same space,” explains Evan.

When the repairs had been completed, Northgate Church still needed half of their $350k budget to pay the bills. In one final push, Evan called on his congregation to pull out their church app and give. Amazingly, the rest of the money came in–thanks in part to Tithe.ly technology.

“Tithe.ly has been such an asset to our church,” says Evan. “...We’re able to be generous. We’re able to give. We’re able to accomplish the things that are already on our hearts to accomplish.”
