Supercharge Your Church’s Online Presence: Why Google Grants Aren’t Enough and Why You Need Google Ads

The power of Google Ads is quite literally limitless. That’s the power of digital marketing (and why I’m a huge proponent of it for churches), but more importantly, it’s where most people hang out.

In the wild world of online outreach, churches are ditching flyers for digital campaigns. Google Grants for Non-profits has been a game-changer, throwing some ad dollars into the mix. But hey, relying solely on the grant…

Not the best move.

Let me break it down for you—why you need to level up with a Google Ads Profit Account to really make an impact on your community.

So, Google Grants hands out a monthly budget for your church to shout out its services, events, and community vibes.

Sounds good, right?

But here's the hitch—it's like giving a race car a speed limit. The monthly budget cap can put the brakes on your grand plans for spreading the good word. It also does not allow you to increase your budget on specific keywords, limiting the influence and power you can have online.

So, you have a choice, you can play it safe with Google grants and hope you get a few clicks, or you can launch a Google Ads Profit Account.

The power of Google Ads is quite literally limitless. That’s the power of digital marketing (and why I’m a huge proponent of it for churches), but more importantly, it’s where most people hang out. Don’t believe me? Think about the last time you wanted to go to dinner-where did you go? Google. Think about the last time you needed your car serviced, where did you go? Google. Google is king, and to expect that church people don’t behave or think the same way is illogical.

There is a specific caveat here-I see a lot of churches jump to marketing far too early. They think, if I could just get more people through the door, the problem is that when they are through the door then what? Does your marketing match your internal messaging? Are your next steps processes streamlined? Or will they come in the front door and back out the same door they came in?

I’ve built a whole course on how to maximize advertising for churches. If you are interested in learning more, you can find it here. Also, you can join our next monthly mastermind where we talk about marketing for the average church.

Here’s the thing, digital ads are an investment. With a Google Ads Account, you're not just tossing coins into the wishing well. You're getting real-time data, tracking performance, and optimizing like a boss. Whether you want more clicks on your site, a full house at your event, or a buzzing online community—Google Ads delivers the goods. It's not just an option; it's a smart move if you're serious about rocking the digital game.
